About this project
This site documents a self-programmed course in interaction design. The question I am working on is how training can be integrated into OpenBridge interfaces — the design system for ship bridges — rather than sitting beside them as a separate manual, course or simulator session.
Why it matters
Bridge systems are learned under pressure, often on the job, across equipment from different vendors. A design system can make those interfaces consistent; it does not by itself make them teachable. That gap is what I want to explore.
How the site is organised
- Process — dated entries as the work happens: sketches, dead ends, decisions and the reasoning behind them.
- Research — an annotated library of papers, standards and references, each with key findings and a note on why it matters here.
Status
Ongoing. Entries are published as the course runs, so earlier posts may be contradicted by later ones — that is the point of keeping the log.
